Chapter 52: Breeze was soothing the soldiers at the zinc gate where the attack had started. He reflected with Clubs on how they were not running away from this doomed situation because Kelsier had changed them. Then the gate burst open. Vin was running toward Luthadel on a pewter drag, fearing that she would be too late to save her friends. Sazed learned about the breach at the eastern gate. He wanted the messenger to ask Dockson to send someone else to be in charge at his gate, as he was not confident in his own ability to lead and fight. A group of skaa gathered by the gate, saying they were there to watch the koloss fall, and to watch the Sazed who they called the Holy First Witness. The koloss broke through the gate, and Sazed stayed to fight. He tapped his pewtermind and slew a giant koloss with one punch, then led the soldiers into battle. Vin ran low on pewter, still a few hours from Luthadel. She found a village and gathered horseshoes to create a Mistborn spikeway, so that she could Push and Pull her way to the city.
