Chapter 33: Vin felt frustrated by the vagueness of the Terris prophecies, so she and OreSeur discussed prophecies and legends. OreSeur revealed that the kandra had a religion: ”The stories say that you'll kill yourselves off. You're of Ruin, after all, while the kandra are of Preservation. You're ... actually supposed to destroy the world, I believe. Using the koloss as your pawns.”. Elend investigated a case of malady which revealed that one of the city's drinking-water wells had been poisoned. Vin talked with Dockson to investigate whether he was the imposter, asking him about a private conversation they had before the Collapse about their opinions of the nobility. Afterward, Vin told OreSeur that she believed Dockson was not the impostor, but OreSeur warned her that kandra could be very thorough. Vin saw Captain Demoux moving suspiciously through. She followed him and thought that he must be the spy.
