Chapter 13: Vin noticed that the mists were coming earlier. Vin and OreSeur discussed how they could find the imposter. Though it was part of the contract that OreSeur could refuse to answer questions about kandra, he mentioned that kandra cannot be affected by mental Allomancy, nor can they use Allomancy. Vin felt a faint pulsing from the mists with her bronze again. She followed the pulse and found a ghost formed entirely of mist on the upper floor of a building, with a vantage point overlooking the rooftop where she and OreSeur had their conversation. The mist spirit grabbed her arm, and she felt a piercing pain from her ear through her mind. Elend organized a meeting with the crew. They had already discussed what they should do before Elend arrived and suggested that he form an alliance with one of the armies. Elend finally got his point across, after being interrupted several times, about his idea to sabotage the food supplies and then set the two armies against each other. The crew decided to go with his plan. The guards caught a Terriswoman eavesdropping on their meeting. She demanded to speak to Elend herself. She was a Keeper and a Feruchemist. Chapter 14: The Terriswoman, Tindwyl, was a friend of Sazed. She specialized in biographies and had studied the lives of great generals, kings, and emperors. She came to Luthadel to help Elend become a king and leader with authority. (P.S. This part reminds me of you xD :“The woman stepped forward, placing a hand on his shoulder and pressing his back firmly to improve his posture. She stepped back, then nodded slightly to herself. […] Elend asked, resisting the urge to slouch back into his earlier posture.”) Chapter 15: Eight days after Sazed and Marsh left the Conventical on their trip back to Luthadel, Sazed woke up to find that Marsh was missing. He waited, but Marsh did not return, so Sazed decided to continue alone. Sazed stopped at the village of Urbene and found the villagers dead, their bodies scattered around the doorways without any visible cause of death. Those inside the hovels had died of starvation and dehydration. Sazed found one man still alive. The man said that the mist had stayed for weeks; those who went outside died from violent shaking, though some people survived. Sazed worried that something more than bandits and armies was wrong with the world. He pulled out a steelmind containing stored physical speed and headed for Luthadel.
