She had always thought that people would eventually leave her and never come back, and that she didn’t deserve to be loved. As she was about to turn away, she recalled that Reen had died protecting her. In the end, she dropped down through the skylight into Elend’s room. "He smiled, throwing back his chair and grabbing her in a fim embrace. Vin closed her eyes, simply feeling the warmth im embrace. Vin closed her eyes, simply feeling the warmth of being held. And realized that was all she had ever really wanted."
